Saint Rose of Lima

Life Teen is a Catholic youth ministry movement that began in 1985 in response to Saint John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization. What started at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona, has now grown to more than 1,500 parishes in over 30 countries, including South Africa, China, Spain, the Philippines, and the Netherlands.

At the heart of Life Teen is the Eucharist. The most important part of our ministry is the dynamic Mass held every Sunday at 5 PM here at Saint Rose of Lima in Northborough.

Life Teen Mass is designed especially for teens and their families — a liturgy that is active, participatory, and alive with faith. Teens take on key roles as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, and leaders of prayer. Homilies speak directly to the challenges and questions teens face today, offering messages that are both relevant and inspiring.

And the music? It’s not the kind you usually hear at Mass. The Life Teen Band fills the church each week with music that is upbeat, powerful, and prayerful, creating an atmosphere where worship feels both joyful and deeply spiritual.

Coming to Mass is the best way to be part of Life Teen, but the easiest way to meet people and make new friends is by joining us for a Life Night after Mass.

Life Nights take place in the parish hall on select Sunday evenings following the Life Teen Mass. They’re a chance for teens to grow deeper in their faith while building real friendships. Each night combines engaging talks, small group discussions, and activities that help teens connect the teachings of the Church to their everyday lives and the struggles they face.

Of course, no Life Night is complete without fellowship and some great food — generously provided by our parent Lifeguard volunteers. We always end the evening in prayer, singing “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman” to honor our patroness, the Blessed Mother.
